The
Line Dancer
of the Year Award is a nomination award.
It is intended to recognise those who have contributed to promoting
line
dancing beyond
the interests of their own club, have done charity work
etc. It is not
meant to recognise your favourite instructor. When
nominating, include as much detail as you can. The Awards
Committee will combine all the nominations and chose the person who has
done the most for line dancing in the year (quality, not number of
nominations is
important). The Line Dancer award is
open to all resident Australians involved in line dancing, be they
instructors,
choreographers, dancers, 'helpers', website operators etc.
Note
that most teachers teach classes, run socials, many choreograph dances,
do workshops & run tours and of course are loved by their
students.
We are looking for nominations based on something extra such as
volunteer & charity work (specific details please!),
evidence
of promoting line dancing beyond the interests of the teacher's own
club, networking and so forth. For example, a past winner raised over
$80,000 for charity in one year. Call it the nomination that has the X-Factor!
