Dance Floor of Fame Inductees:

Please Read! These Awards are sponsored by Australian Line Dancer. Voting is from April to April in the following year (voting closes early to mid April). The  results are announced & the awards presented at the Australian Country Dance Festival ('Mayworth'), Tamworth.

You can vote in as many of the categories as you like once every month. Instructors are encouraged to collect votes from their classes & socials and submit them monthly (class voting form - right click & save). See below for rules. The more people & classes that vote, the more truly representative the results. These awards are not for technical merit, but are popularity based awards (the most votes wins), except for the Line Dancer of the Year award, which is a merit based award.

Note that for the purposes of these awards "Australian" refers to someone currently living in Australia.

Please Read the Voting Rules

Please fill in as many fields as you wish and then click "submit", once per month

Brief
Voting
 rules:

Use the online form above or email your votes (you don't have to vote in every category) to David Powell. Internet votes will be combined with votes posted & collected by committee members to determine the winners in each category. Voting is open to Australian residents who are currently line dancing (please don't ask your non-dancing friends & family to vote). Non-dancers are not allowed to vote! Multiple votes from the same IP address need to be verified - if it is a class voting, use the voting form. Multiple votes from the same IP address in a calendar month will only be accepted after verification.
In order to encourage more individual votes and votes from smaller classes and reduce the bias from large groups, class votes will be capped on a monthly basis (individual votes are counted as is). This means instructors with large classes will not swamp the votes.
You may vote once every month until voting closes. When voting for a dance please include the choreographer's name since there may be more than one dance with the same name. You need to include your name when voting. Anonymous votes are not counted. Multiple votes in a month will not be counted.
The awards committee reserves the right to change a voter's category where necessary (eg: a foreign dance is voted in an Australian category).
Any dance that has one or more non-Australian choreographers belongs in the International Dance section.
Except in cases of a possible tie, the Awards Committee does not vote and the results often do not reflect whom the Committee thinks should win.
Voting categories are mostly self explainatory. The dance levels for the Australian sections are as per the original choreographer's sheets. The Personality award is a simple 'popularity' award and anyone involved in the Australian line dance community can be voted on in this section.

The Line Dancer of the Year Award is a nomination award. This award is for those who have contributed to the wider line dance community. Grounds for nomination include charity work (eg fundraising, free shows at nursing homes etc), promoting line dancing in the media, promoting networking & so forth, international recognition, contributing to the national line dance scene etc. The award is open to all resident Australians involved in line dancing, be they instructors, choreographers or 'behind the scenes' people. The more detail you provide, the stronger the nomination. Additional documentation (copies of receipts, thankyou letters, newpaper clippings, weblinks etc) needs to be emailed - it is not the committee's job to track down evidence (so please don't say "check out facebook page for details"). This is not a popularity or favourite teacher award - being a good teacher or running great socials are not grounds for nomination (that's what they are being paid to do afterall). At the conclusion of the voting period all the nominations are combined and the members of 'Australian Line Dancer' (sponsors of these awards) along with the Dance Floor of Fame Inductees will assess the nominations and chose the most worthy recipient for this award. Recipients of this award are not eligible in the following year.
